Signature Book

Brooke and Brandon's signature book came in a few weeks ago and I thought I might share a few snapshots of it here. It's a great way to use your engagement images for a personal guestbook you'll enjoy looking at again and again. If you've never seen one of these before, I design the book with lots of blank space or opaque images where your wedding guests sign their names and messages. If a signature matte isn't your style, consider one of these!
Speaking of engagement pictures, the nicer weather is just around the corner (my mini daffodil bulbs have poked their way through the ground and grow taller every day). Contact me soon to get on my spring calendar if you are in need of a portrait session! 2009 brides who haven't yet had an engagement session, I will be contacting you soon to get that set up. Yes, in spite of how cold the weather is today, spring is coming! ;-)

Jordan's Senior Mini Session

I had a lot of fun photographing Jordan last week to get some photos for her yearbook! I was pleased with how they turned out and had a hard time choosing just a few to share here! Because the weather is still quite cool and vegetation sparse, we did this mini-session and will do more later this spring when we can enjoy more time outdoors!

The "C" Family

Hi blog readers! I thought I would share this collage from the C family's photo session. We made this collage of their favorite images to hang in their family room. When you can't choose one, collages are a great idea!

Crazy Socks Day

Today was crazy socks day at Ellie's school. I snapped this photo for our family blog and just had to share. She's always been a 'dots' girl (we attribute it to the fact that all the crib sheets in her orphanage were polka dots), so these socks (which were a Christmas gift) are perfect for her!

Trish & Bobby

It's always a treat to get to meet sweet new people and Trish and Bobby are no exception! We had a fun time bonding through this shoot on a particularly chilly winter day. In spite of the cold, the snow somehow kept melting so it was a race to find white spaces before the snow disappeared.
Trish and Bobby will wed this summer up near Trish's home in Alberta, Canada. Though I won't be shooting their wedding, it was great to capture a slice of their relationship, a few of my favorites which are featured here!

Congratulations, Kelly!

I wanted to take a moment to congratulate and thank my friend Kelly McCormick! Many of my 2008 couples got to work with Kelly, my childhood friend who is making a foray into the world of wedding and family photography. She traveled down from Illinois to assist me at many a wedding this last year to build her portfolio and gain experience. They were wonderful times to reconnect with this friend whom I've known since she was a wee lass, a fellow farm girl from Mason County, Illinois (our parents went to high school together).

What most didn't know who saw Kelly on these occasions, was that she was carrying a little one along with her! Three weeks ago little miss Colby Kathleen made her entrance into the world, and will no doubt become keen friends with a camera lens, if her mother has any say about it! Congratulations, Kelly! And thank you for creating a new set of memories this past year in 2008! I'll miss seeing you as much in 2009, but can't wait to meet Miss Colby! Share/Bookmark
