John & Jennifer

It all started when John (a paramedic) brought a patient into Jennifer's (a nurse) ER and something sparked. A few years later, on a beautiful September Saturday afternoon, the paramedic and nurse were married. It was a happy occasion, sprinkled with tears of happiness. It is always special to be a part of such a momentous day in the lives of two people -- thanks, John and Jennifer, for inviting me to be a part of yours! Check back soon for more images from their wedding! Share/Bookmark

Emily's Senior Session

I'm so happy to share these pics from Emily's senior session! I had a lot of fun trekking around downtown Lexington with Emily and her mom (who was an excellent assistant) on this sunny late afternoon and introducing these Louisville ladies to a little part of this city! Emily's younger sisters were flower girls in one of the summer weddings I documented so it was an honor when their mom contacted me to take these photos for Emily. I'm so blessed in this occupation to get to meet such nice people like these!

Congratulations, Phil and Sarah!

I particularly like this photo (above) because I think Phil was the first person I knew to get an iPhone, and even near the end of the reception he was trying to convince me to convert to Mac...

(above) -- this is just a small sampling of the joy which filled this event. Oh, and yes, the evening sun shone right on the beautiful bride during the beginning of the ceremony

Saturday's wedding was a special one to document for me personally. The bride and groom are personal friends -- so having the privilege of documenting their wedding was such an honor! It was a very joyful day -- I wish I was operating a video camera to record Sarah's mother's exclamation as she exited Estes after the ceremony. In looking over the hundreds of photos to select some of my favorites for this post, I noticed that all four parents are beaming in just about every photo I have of them. I have probably posted several more photos than I usually do, but that's only because I have a stronger than usual connection to this particular pair.

Sarah and Phil -- we're going to miss you down in Alabama, but you've given us reason to visit the Yellowhammer State (I had to look that up on Google)! We love you and pray God's richest blessings on your marriage!

Justin & Jennifer

The sky had a foreboding look most of the day, but thankfully the rain held off and I think you would agree we had a successful engagement session on the beautiful grounds of the Henry Clay Estate yesterday. Justin and Jennifer were a lot of fun and I'm sure their wedding day will likewise hold a lot of laughter. Guys, I am looking forward to your wedding next spring!

Laurie and Sam

I've been looking forward to sharing these photos from my session a few weeks ago with Laurie and Sam! Laurie is a friend from our college days who happens to be in the States for a few weeks with her son, Samuel. Husband/Daddy, Andreas, will be joining for a brief visit soon and we'll get a family photo together before they all return to Sweden. In the mean time, it was special to document the mother-son relationship of Laurie and Samuel, a beautiful little guy adopted from Nepal. Laurie is a great mom and friend, who was a wonderful encouragement to Nathan and I in pursuing the adoption of our daughter Ellie. We will always be grateful for that! In the mean time, congratulations, Laurie, on successfully getting the Nepal program started for New Beginnings so other families can provide homes to children from Nepal!
